Water temps dipped up to 8 degrees in some areas, slowing the hot reaction bite for bass down to a crawl. That didn't matter for those who fished 'crawlers, or better yet live shad. Ed Conway of San Luis Obispo was at it again, using shad to enjoy his "best day of fishing ever". Conway had 4 catfish to 16Ibs. as well as 3 largies to 5lbs. Crappie were being caught under, and around the fishing docks in the live oak area. Crappie jigs tipped with a mealworm, or a crappie nibble was the top offering for slabs to 2lbs. The kitties were falling for frozen shad, or mackerel around rocky outcroppings all over the lake. A handful of the jumbo bluegill were also caught in an undisclosed location.

Water Temperature: 66 Degrees

Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Fair
Catfish: Good
Crappie: Fair
