LAKE CONDITIONS: Lake Camanche's current elevation is 203.2 feet above sea level, a drop of .28 feet this week. There is currently no water flowing into Lake Camanche, and water is flowing out of Lake Camanche at 225c.f.s. No water is expected this week from Lake Pardee so Camanche should drop slightly.??The surface water temp. at North Harbor remains at 62 degrees.

TROUT: Trout fishing at the South Shore Pond continued to be excellent for many anglers this week, with many limits of trout being reported at the marina. 5 year old Jessica Delaney, from Modesto, was fishing with her Dad when she hooked into "something big." With some coaching from her Dad she ended up bringing in the big fish of the week, a beautiful 9.88 pound rainbow trout. Dad said he told her what to do, but she caught the huge trout all by herself. Way to go, Jessica. 16 year old Tim Meeks, from Elk Grove, caught 2 very nice trout at the Pond also. He was fishing with a Rapala lure, in rainbow pattern, and caught a 7.46 pound trout, and another one at 7.07 pounds.

Paul Stengle, from San Francisco, was out last week trolling for trout, and ended up with 4 bass up to 2 ?? pounds, and 3 trout up to 2 pounds. He was trolling between 25-35 feet deep, with Sep's dodger/Sep's orange grubs and also a Yo-Zuri pinz minnow. All of his fish were caught in the main lake, in the area of Hat Island and Little Hat Island.

Trout trollers in the main lake are starting to find fish right on or very near the surface. We have had several reports of nice trout being caught on Rapalas and Needlefish, while top lining on the surface near Hat Island and Little Hat Island.

This week's trout plant of 1,200 pounds of Mt. Lassen hatchery fish will be at the North Shore launch ramp.

BASS: We would like to thank the Sonora Bass Anglers for holding their club meet here at Lake Camanche on Nov. 3rd. They had 16 boats go out, and we congratulate the father/son team of Mike and Larry Freeman for their winning weight of 12.36 pounds. They caught all of their fish in the main lake on crankbaits, top water baits, and soft plastics. We also congratulate Chris Richardson for his big fish at 5.16 pounds.

Pro bass angler Dave Gorden, from Elk Grove; and his young friend, 13 year old Erik Dornback (also an amateur bass tournament fisherman) had a great day of bass fishing last week. They hooked into 25-30 bass, with a beautiful 5 pounder (caught by Erik) while fishing the off shore structure in the upper lake. They said their average fish was 2 ??-3 pounds, and were caught on chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, and Senko worms. Dave said most fish were caught in 12-15 feet of water, and were hanging around rocky structure. They fished all day, and caught a few fish in the morning, but the majority of them came in the afternoon.

Cody Day and Michael Painter, from Atwater, rented a boat from North Shore last week and caught 12 bass while fishing upriver. They were trolling with an Excalibur jerk bait, as well as drifting some nightcrawlers, and caught bass up to about 3 pounds. Most of their fish were caught on, or near the surface.

Camanche regular Steve Bjerke, from Danville, rented a boat at North Shore recently and caught about 10 bass, up to 3 pounds. Steve fished the main lake near Dikes 1 and 2, and also up river near the highway bridge, and caught all of his fish in 10-20 feet of water. He was drop shotting, using 4 inch Robo Worms in Aaron's Magic, and also in natural shad pattern.
