Some high clouds, gentle breezes, temperatures in the mid to high 80s for the weekend and beyond, still cool in the evenings and overnight, ideal conditions.

Only one group of anglers working the Recreation Area this morning on Blue Herron Point. The Marina reports bank fishing has been quiet since the holiday weekend. The Woodpile is worth a look and possibly Stoney Point Landing both of which usually continue to produce well after the plant. Also some nice catfish have been caught right off Porcupine Point and Tom Sawyer Island (early morning late evening) recently they have been drawn into the Recreation Area by the spawning carp. White Power Bait, Chartreuse with sparkles, eggs with garlic, orange mouse tails along with night crawlers on a sliding sinker or a half full water bubble all continue to be effective combos thus far for Trout.

Kokanee fishing is still good although most are in the 10 to 12 inch range. Trollers continue to have success starting just outside the Narrows working the center of the Lake to the River Mouth and working along the buoys in the South end. They are also picking up some Trout in the same locations. Saw a few boaters working the face of the dam and the River Mouth as well this morning. Trout and Kokanee are a bit deeper, start in the 30 to 50 foot levels for Trout lower for the Kokes. Hoochies, (green and pink) along with the standard beaded spinners, Uncle Larry's pinkies and white/pink hoochies all behind a medium dodger are a good bet. Apex and Sling Blades are getting the nod as well.

Recent success story: Nathan and Samantha of Galt got two nice limits of Rainbows at the mouth of the River using chartreuse power bait. Larry Cooper a long time Pardee seasonal resident and a fisherman of questionable skill reportedly caught this 8.75 Rainbow at 255 feet east of the Dam. Considering Larry's well-deserved reputation as the worst fisherman in the Western Hemisphere the photo supplied will be closely examined for any evidence of photo shop type tampering. Congratulations Larry, Nathan and Samantha-well done!!!

Presently Lake Level is 18-20 feet below capacity and has been fluctuating and holding. The current water temperature is currently 65 degrees at 20 feet and 67 at the surface; clarity is good to 15 feet plus.

Lake Pardee Recreation has planted another 2000 lbs. bringing the total to 18,000 pounds of fish to date.
