California Inland Fisheries Foundation Inc. 22nd Annual Mike Carrington Memorial Trout Derby this Saturday, May 17th, see our website for further information. Weather forecast calls for temps in the mid to high 80's Look for clear skies and gentle breezes, warm days and still cool in the evenings.

No one around the Mud Hole this morning, anglers and the action has shifted to Porcupine and Blue Heron Points, the Launch Ramp and also saw a few at Stoney Point Landing. The Marina reports bank fishing was ok during the week with word of a few Trout and crappie caught around the Recreation Area. No news from the Woodpile but may be worth a try. Red worms and pieces of night crawlers are favored for the crappie and bluegill. White Power Bait, Chartreuse with sparkles, eggs with garlic, orange mouse tails along with night crawlers on a sliding sinker or a half full water bubble all continue to be effective combos for Trout.

Some Kokanee caught by Trollers last week in the Narrows in front of Mel's Cove and trolling the center of the Lake to the River Mouth. This morning a few boaters were working the face of the Dam and the River Mouth as well the buoy line in the South End. Trout and Kokanee have begun to go deeper and are now at the 30 to 50 foot levels and beyond. Hoochies, (green and pink) along with the standard beaded spinners, Uncle Larry's pinkies and white/pink hoochies all behind a medium dodger are a good bet. Red needle fish continue to perform well recently just outside the Narrows.

No photos to share this report be sure to stop by the Marina with your catch and the particulars so we can post them here and verify your fishing expertise!!

Presently Lake Level is 18-20 feet below capacity and has been fluctuating up or down depending upon releases. The current water temperature is currently 54 degrees at 20 feet and 62 at the surface; clarity is good to 17 feet plus.

Lake Pardee Recreation has planted 16,000 pounds of fish to date.
