Expect summerlike weather conditions today and the weekend, cooling somewhat by Monday and beyond. Some high clouds and gentle breezes, still cool in the evening. The Marina is back in place with all services available once again.

Saw a few fisherman around the Mud Hole and Porcupine Point this morning, one crappie landed and saw a couple of anglers with fish on stringers and another cleaning a limit at the cleaning station. The Marina reports fishing was good mid-week for Trout and crappie around the Recreation Area but has slowed down recently. The changing weather pattern may have something to do with the unpredictable bite. Another source swears that when you see cows lying down along the route while driving into the Lake the bite will be off. It's as good a theory as any other I've heard! The Woodpile is also worth checking out, been some quick limits taken there again recently. . Red worms are the bait of choice for the crappie. White Power Bait, Chartreuse with sparkles, eggs with garlic, orange mouse tails along with night crawlers on a sliding sinker or a half full water bubble all continue to be effective combos thus far for Trout.

Heard of a few Kokanee caught by Trollers last week, upriver near Twin Coves and Columbia. Saw a few boaters working the face of the dam and the River Mouth while others continued to work the Sugar Bowl and the Narrows with mixed results. The word is those fish caught lately are still at the 10 to 30 feet level, using downriggers or three to five colors of lead core, trolling with beaded spinners, Uncle Larry's pinkies and white/pink hoochies all behind a medium dodger are a good bet; German Browns still around out there, try broken back Rapalas, and gold or rainbow minnow. Red needle fish were hot recently so they are probably worth a try to start.

Presently Lake Level is 18-20 feet below capacity and has been fluctuating up or down depending upon rain fall and releases. The current water temperature is currently 52 degrees at 20 feet and 56 at the surface; something has disturbed the vegetation in and it is floating on the surface near the Marina making it impossible to get a good clarity water clarity reading.

Lake Pardee Recreation has planted a total of 14,000 pounds of fish to date.
