Rain last evening and today forecast to clear and become clear and warmer by the weekend. Good news, the Marina has been moved back to its former position and is fully functional once again
Not a fisherman in sight this morning, the rain has discouraged even the most determined this morning. Conditions will improve as the weather changes for the better. Did hear some good reports mid-week from a reliable source that some quick limits were taken at the Woodpile on more than one occasion. Another spot that showed promise was Stoney Point Landing where anglers were landing some throughout the week according to the Marina. Crappie fishing has also been active starting at the Launch Ramp and continuing all around the bank up to Blue Herron Point. Red worms are the bait of choice for the crappie. White Power Bait, Chartreuse with sparkles, eggs with garlic, orange mouse tails along with night crawlers on a sliding sinker or a half full water bubble all continue to be effective combos thus far for Trout.
Counted one boater braving the elements this morning and trolling information for last week is scarce. Some continued to ply the Sugar Bowl and the Narrows with mixed results. The word is those fish caught lately are still at the 10 to 30 feet level, using downriggers or three to five colors of lead core, trolling with beaded spinners, Uncle Larry's pinkies and white/pink hoochies all behind a medium dodger are a good bet; German Browns still around out there, try broken back Rapalas, and gold or rainbow minnow. Red needle fish were hot last report so they are probably worth a try to start.
Presently Lake Level is 18-20 feet below capacity and has been fluctuating up or down depending upon rain fall and releases. The current water temperature is currently 52 degrees at 20 feet and 56 at the surface; water clarity has clouded due to run off but will clear quickly. Presently it's good to 15 ft.
Lake Pardee Recreation has planted a total of 14,000 pounds of fish to date.
