Fishing Report:
Even with the warmer temperatures, we have still had a few stories to brag about. Trout are definitely going deeper, recent reports state that they are being caught at about 40' feet deep with the bait of choice still being power baits in chartreuse, rainbow and garlic. Night crawlers are still a favorite with anglers. We had Mary Lopez of Ione catch a 6.60 lb trout off the Day Use area at North shore. Ernest Green of Elk Grove caught a 1.65 lb crappie near the Lancha Plana bridge. Miles Robert of Sacramento caught a nice 5.70 lb catfish near the Tiers at North shore while using shad and night crawlers as bait. Our regular and local Steve Bickham of Ione caught another whopper of a trout this time weighing 6.10 lbs while fishing over by the causeway cove.
