Lake Camanche Trout action is good as surface temps are less than 69 degrees

Lake Conditions:
Inflow:
The inflow from Lake Pardee is currently at 1265 c.f.s. The spill is at 0 c.f.s
. Outflow:
The outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 349 c.f.s.
Lake Capacity:
The lake is 68% full. Water Temperature: The water temperature is 68'F degrees.
Weekly Weather:
Summer is almost officially here! Sunny all week with highs in the high 70's to high 80's with a 20% chance of rain on Friday. Lows in the mid to high 50's.
Last Fish Plant:
On Monday, May 14th, we had 600 lbs delivered to the South shore pond and 1200 lbs delivered to the North shore ramp. The South shore ramp was not included in this delivery.
Lake News:
Rental Kayaks are in! Both shores will have kayaks available for rent this summer. Check with the marina for rates & availability.
Primitive has been expanded to 30 sites! The 10 new sites are open as of the 21st. Come and get 'em!
Free Saturday night movies at the South shore Amphitheatre (across from the Gold Run campground) start Memorial Day weekend and run through Labor Day weekend. Movies will start at sundown and are free for our guests.
TROUT:
The warmer weather has trout going deeper but we have continued the fish plants since the surface temperature of the water has stayed below 69'F. Mark Schon of Stockton caught a 5.08 lb trout near Hat Island while using speedy shiners. Zach W. of Sonora caught a nice 8.00 lb trout off the Peninsula point at North shore using anchovies. Betty & Chuck Finley of Ione caught a nice stringer of trout near the Narrows and Hat Island while fishing with a worm. Mark Schon came back later in the week and caught 2 more good sized trout weighing in at 6.20lbs & 6.70lbs using a rapala lure. David Paulo and William Hinselman of Valley Springs caught a stringer totaling 14.65 lb with the largest weighing in at 5.06lbs while fishing out by Little and Big Hat Islands using apex lures.
CATFISH:
Jeremy Milligan of Valley Springs caught a 4.33lb catfish near Little Hat Island while using powerbait. Victoria Apalit of Wallace caught a 7.68lb catfish off of Chevron point using a night crawler.
BASS:
Larry Yong of Alameda caught a 6.40 lb bass near the North shore marina using worms. Dan Valdez of Wallace caught a 8.25lb Large Mouth Bass off of Chevron point using night crawlers.
