Chris Lloyd & his Dad Alan fished together this weekend and joined the fishing derby-which was a Good Thing! It proved to be a Winner since Chris caught a 2 Pound Bass and entered it in the derby and won !! His earnings were for this week and the past 2 weeks also which had not been claimed by anyone yet. Half the total pot came to $117.50. Great job Chris!! Rene Lindsey should have entered the derby, she caught a 6-3/4 ln. Catfish on 8/14 and a 9 lb. and an 8 lb. Cat on 8/15 on her "lucky hook" and a dead minnow.

Our "trollers of the week" were Nick & Lisa Collins (no relation) who netted a limit of trout. They were trolling at 40 ft. down on Needlefish lures near the dam. The only other Trout I saw this week was a single 2 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow caught by Grandpa Emmanuel.

We saw more Catfish & Bass catches this week than trout. Steve Huffman caught a 4 lb. 8 oz. Catfish in Elmers Cove using Nightcrawlers. Dave Zaski & sons picked up a 9 lb. Cat and a 7-1/2 lb. Cat closer to the bridge (from their boat) using Anchovies for bait. J.D. McMillian & Brianna Donahoe netted a 3 lb. Bass near the dam on worms. Scott Cantees of Woodland landed a 1-1/2 lb. Bass & a 1-1/2 lb. Trout with a worm near the dam, fishing from shore.

Jackie, Hayley, & Rachel caught a beautiful Redear Bluegill from their boat across the lake. L.J. Houser, Samantha Stephens, & Brandon Birschtin all caught Bluegill on redworms. They were hoping for something bigger so they could win the derby but it wasn't in the cards this week.

The long range forecast shows it's going to warm up again and start acting like a normal August which is HOT!!! Not too bad though, it should be somewhere between 96 and 100 degrees for the high so fishing real early it advisable for trout and it doesn't matter for Catfish, Bass, & Bluegill since they like the warm water.
