It's been a busy 2 weeks fishing here at Collins Lake. This report will include 2 weeks worth of information since I was on vacation all last week.

Our Trout were "on the bite" big time this past couple of weeks. The Redford Family teamed up with the Douglas Family and slammed the Trout while trolling mostly near the dam around 35 feet. They picked up quite a few German Brown Trout along with the Rainbow Trout. Glenn Roze also picked up a nice Rainbow Trout 3-1/2 lb. trolling a Dodger & Wedding Ring Spinner at 35 feet down. Skip & Wade Whorton and families were unstoppable this past week. Day after day they caught scores of Trout. Their first day netted two Trout over 5 pounds trolling with worms. The next day it was 6 Trout with a 3-1/4 lb. German Brown, also trolling worms. Little Tyler picked up a Redear Sunfish off the rental dock Skip & Wade continued on another fine day of fishing with 8 Trout on their stringer, averaging 2 to 3 pounds each and this time they trolled Needlefish about 45 feet down near the dam. The "Myterious 4" caught some amazing Trout as well trolling Nightcrawlers on the east side. They are Willie,Tom, Dakota, & Dusstin and the Trout were literally jumping in their boat. Their biggest was 3-1/4 pounds!! Roxanne & Nicole had a successful day of fishing up near the bridge trolling flashers and worms. They took home 3 nice Rainbows for supper, bet they had to cook them too!!

Multiple Catfish were caught and that is normal for this time of year as the weather heats up. It's been a mild summer so far with only one week of over the 100 mark, and most days in mid to upper 90's. Hunter Wickum lands a 7-1/4lb. Cat using Chicken Livers-and an 8-1/2 lb. got picked up by Chuck Gibson who was trolling a Kastmaster. A 10-1/4 lb. Cat was caught with good ol' stinkbait under the bridge by Eric Hansaard. Jerry Freeman blew everyone out of the water with his 3 Cats (2-over 10 pounds and a 3-1/2 lb) using Sardines by the bridge.

The Johnson Family from Los Angeles dialed into the Bass catching without a doubt. Using plastic worms up in the north end they caught 3 one day and the biggest was 3-1/4 lb. Kacie caught a bigger one that weighed 3-1/2 pounds. Dean Clark & Rick Miller caught Bass, the biggest weighed 3-3/4 lb. Simon & Reid caught a 2 lb. Bass off the rental dock on a live crawdad.
