Mexican Fiesta and Salsa Cook Off, May 4, 2013

This year Camanche Recreation Company is hosting a Mexican Fiesta and Salsa Cook Off on May 4, 2013 from 3:00pm -- 6:00pm on South shore at Lakeside Hall. Bring your meanest salsa! Prize awarded for THE BEST SALSA. Come join the fun and help us to taste the best salsas out there! Table, chips and sample cups provided. PINATA FOR THE KIDS!

FISH PLANTS
Mt Lassen Trout delivered 600 lbs to the South shore ramp and 600 lbs to the South shore trout pond on Monday, April 29. Mt. Lassen has planted 21,200 lbs of trout at the lake in 2013.

FISHING REPORT
This has definitely been the season for bass at the lake!

On April 26, 2013, Cazbar Saelao of Sacramento caught a 14.62 lbs bass in the main body of the lake on a Senko. The fish measured 28 3/4" long and had a 21 1/2" girth.

Norbert Gee of Sacramento caught a 12.79 lb bass off the left side of the North shore open dock using a brown crawdad with gold and red flakes. He also caught a male that was not weighed and both were released. Ali Addit of Stockton caught a 10.5 lb catfish in the main lake using chicken liver on 04/28/13.

Jan Anderson and Randy McNabb of Valley Springs caught a 4.69 lb & 3.5 lb catfish at the South shore cove using a night crawler on 04/30/13. Shawn Riche of Burson caught a 7.21 lb bass in the main lake near South shore on 04/22/13 while fishing with a kastmaster.

Miguel Fresquez of Citrus Heights caught a 6.1 lb catfish near the South shore marina while fishing with chicken liver.

Don't forget! You can win a free 2014 Annual Day Use Pass! All you have to do is catch the largest fish by weight for the 2013 calendar year. Bring your fish to either marina store for a picture and weigh in to be eligible. One pass per fish type (Bass, Trout, Catfish, Crappie). See store or gate for more details.
