FISHING REPORT
Don't forget! You can win a free 2014 Annual Day Use Pass! All you have to do is catch the largest fish by weight for the 2013 calendar year. Bring your fish to either marina store for a picture and weigh in to be eligible. One pass per fish type (Bass, Trout, Catfish, Crappie). See store or gate for more details.
The catfish bite is improving with a 6.11 lbs catfish caught by Cody Schaeffer of Elk Grove on April 27th. He was fishing off the Peninsula campground at North shore using a lure.
We also had Art DeAlba of Castro Valley catch a 11.0 lbs catfish near the South shore cove on Cinco de Mayo while fishing with chicken liver. Pauline & Holli of North Highlands caught a stringer of Blue Gills while fishing from the South shore using red worms. There were no weights recorded.
Pictures of the anglers mentioned above will be posted at their respective marina stores and on our Facebook page. We have seen some stringers of trout come out of the North shore over the last weekend. These undocumented fish appear to be in the 2+ pound range.
Anglers still report trout 15ft to 25ft deep using different types of lures if fishing by boat. Bank fishermen are getting hits with lures and various colored power baits.
