LAKE NEWS
Summer is right around the corner so be sure to take advantage of our lower winter rates good through April 30th. Camp, RV, or stay in a heated cottage while we still have mild weather, less crowds, and still be easy on the pocketbook. Rates go back to normal starting May 1st.

Don't forget that you can win a free 2014 Annual Day Use Pass! All you have to do is catch the largest fish by weight for the 2013 calendar year. Bring your fish to either marina store for a picture and weigh in to be eligible. One pass per fish type (Bass, Trout, Catfish, Crappie). See store or gate for more details.

FISH PLANTS
Mt Lassen Trout delivered 600 lbs to the South shore ramp and 600 lbs to the South shore trout pond on Tuesday, April 16. Mt. Lassen has planted 19,800 lbs of trout at the lake in 2013.

FISHING REPORT
Warmer weather certainly has the bass bite doing well. Anglers are still being seen at the fish cleaning stations at both shores but when questioned, anglers wish to remain anonymous but are reporting that trout are biting more on lures than with power baits and are still being caught in about 15 feet of water closer to the causeway and Hat Island as well and the Narrows.

Chue Xiong of Sacramento caught a 12.88 lbs large mouth bass on 04/10/13 while fishing in the South shore cove using a green Senko worm. Ralph Gaedeke of Sacramento caught a nice 5.50 lb rainbow trout while fishing in the South shore trout pond using a wolly bugger. Zoey Herman of Placerville caught a 5.50 lb catfish near the Blue Oaks campground at North shore using a mini night crawler.
