Shaver Lake is still kicking out multi limits of trout. With a continued bite since early June, guide Dick Nichols, of Dick's Fishing Charters, says his clients are going home with their limits on a regular basis. Some trophy sized trout have been caught during those trips. With a DFG plant last week, Nichols anticipates the bite to continue with an occasional trophy trout being caught. He continues to fish the island, Black Rock and Eagle Point using Trout Busters with a tip of crawler behind weighted Mountain Flashers. Apex, Needlefish and Rapala's also have had success. The fish are holding in the 21 to 36 feet deep range.

No word on any success of anchored boat fishing with bait, but the bank anglers can catch a limit with Power Bait, or crawlers, from the road 1 and 2, the Point and near the Sierra Marina.

Water temperature is at 68 degrees and the lake level is holding at 66% capacity.

He must have been 21 feet down as I think he fishes 100 feet back with his Mountain Flasher. The fish was weighed and measured by Dick Gomez at...... Read More
