Shaver Lake fishing remains hot, say's guide Dick Nichols , of Dick's Fishing Charters. " Everyone seems to be scoring limits trolling in the island, Black Rock and Tunnel Creek areas of Shaver", Nichols said. His clients have caught multiple limits since the 2nd week of June using Trout Busters, with a tip of crawler, behind Mountain Flashers at 21 feet deep. His down riggers are at 32 to 36 feet deep, with Trout Busters. Most of his fish are in the 13-15 inch group with a few to 3 pounds this past week. Apex and Needle Fish have been used by some trollers with success. DFG will be making a plant of catchables this week increasing most anglers continued success.

There has been a slow down in trophy trout over 3 pounds for the past couple of weeks. Bank fishing is good with limits possible at road's 1 and 2, the Point and near Shaver Lake Marina. Power Bait in yellow, pink and orange seem to be the favorite along with crawlers. Anglers dipping Power Bait from anchored boats have not seen the success they had a few weeks ago. The surface water temperature is at 69.4 degrees and the lakes water capacity has dropped to 67%.
