Pardee Lake Family Fun Kokanee Derby will be held this Saturday May 19th beginning at 6 AM. For entry forms and further information access the Project Kokanee website at www.ciffi.org.

The water level has risen during the week and is presently going over the spill. EBMUD continues to generate and release water to fill Camanche Reservoir. Visibility is excellent presently good to 20 feet at the Marina. Water temperatures have remained constant since last report and are currently 56 degrees at the 20 foot mark and 60 at surface.

Lots of Derby participants are pre-fishing the Lake this morning. Most are working the area between the South End barrel line and the Dam in front of the spillway for Trout and Kokanee alike. There were also some favorable reports about the upriver areas last week as well. The Trout and Kokanee have gone a little deeper lately and are spaced out in the 10 to 45 foot strata. Hot lures are still Uncle Larry's glow pink fire tiger, copper popsicles and desert fire lures, tipped with corn behind a medium silver/blue or watermelon Sep's dodger have all been very successful combos for Kokanee.

The gate reports some bank fishermen were in and out this morning with quick limits, but hesitant to share the location. The Woodpile has also been quite productive lately and the far side of the Recreation Area at Stony Point Landing.

Rainbow Point the shore behind the EBMUD boathouse the launch ramp and Porcupine Point were the most populated. Garlic flavored Power bait and eggs in yellow and chartreuse remain the most successful bait along with the Pistol Pete fly at the end of a 4ft leader behind a water bobber.

Pardee Lake Recreation has planted a total of 20,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout in combination with the Department of Fish and Game plants of 5,000 for a grand total of 25,000 lbs., look for another plant in the near future.
