Weather: Overcast skies this weekend, clearing skies and warming temperatures on the way.
Lake Conditions: The water is going over the spill presently. EBMUD continues to generate and release water to fill Camanche Reservoir. Visibility has returned to normal and is presently good to 15 feet at the Marina. Water temperatures have remained constant since last report and are currently 54 degrees at the 20 foot mark and 58 at surface.
Fishing Conditions:
Trollers have had good success during the week working the area between the South End barrel line and the Dam in front of the spillway for Trout and Kokanee alike. No reports of much going on upriver this week. The Trout and Kokanee are still close to the surface at this time; keep your equipment in the 10 to 20 feet level. Uncle Larry's glow pink fire tiger, copper popsicles and desert fire lures, tipped with corn behind a medium silver/blue or watermelon Sep's dodger have all been very successful combos for Kokanee.
Bank fishing has been active again this morning (saw three fish caught and landed while at the Marina this morning) in the Recreation Area. Rainbow Point the shore behind the EBMUD boathouse the launch ramp and Porcupine Point were the most populated. Garlic flavored Power bait and eggs in yellow and chartreuse remain the most successful bait along with the Pistol Pete fly at the end of a 4ft leader behind a water bobber.
Recent Success Stories:
John Coutts (pictured) of Valley Springs got this huge Largemouth bass in the south end using a Robo worm and drop shot. Congratulations John-well done!!
