This Sunday, April 29th is the 2012 Pardee Lake Recreation Area Media Day. Meet the Pros and Media writers, attend seminars, and see product demos, new boats and an opportunity for some anglers to fish along with them. See the website www.pardeelakerecreation.com for further info.

Lake level is right at the tree line, this last storm topped it off. EBMUD continues to generate and release water to fill Camanche Reservoir. Visibility decreased with the last storm but will clear now that the rain has stopped. Visibility is presently good to 12 feet as measured in the Marina. Water temperatures will warm with the current conditions and are currently 54 degrees at the 20 foot mark and 58 at surface.

Trollers continue to concentrate upriver near Twin Coves, Deer Island and the River Mouth. Fishing has been good to very good in those areas during the week. The Trout and Kokanee are still close to the surface at this time; keep your equipment in the 10 to 20 feet level. Uncle Larry's glow pink fire tiger, copper popsicles and desert fire lures, tipped with corn behind a medium silver/blue or watermelon Sep's dodger have all been very successful combos for Kokanee. Trout have also been active upriver hitting the Uncle Larry's lures with shoe peg corn or other lures with night crawlers. Lot of boats on the water this morning, most heading upstream.

Bank fishing has been great this morning in the Recreation Area. Rainbow Point the shore behind the EBMUD boathouse the launch ramp and Porcupine Point were the most populated and I did see a few hardy souls heading to towards Stony Point Landing. Garlic flavored Power bait and eggs in yellow and chartreuse remain the most successful bait along with the Pistol Pete fly at the end of a 4ft leader behind a water bobber.

In addition to Media Day there are two Bass tournaments scheduled for Saturday so I'm sure some great pictures will be available for the next report.

Pardee Lake Recreation planted again this morning for a total of 18,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout in combination with the Department of Fish and Game plants of 5,000 for a grand total of 23,000 lbs.
