The Lake is continues to spill and will continue as snow melts in the Sierras. Lake is full to the tree line. Recent rains have again muddied the waters and deposited silt and debris which has limited visibility to 6 to 8 feet at best. Water temps remain the same as last report and are 52 degrees at 20'and 56 degrees at surface as measured in the Marina.BR> BR> Bank fishermen are taking advantage of better weather and have returned to the Park. Another plant early this morning of 1 to 6 lb rainbows will help improve conditions off the bank. Hot spots are the same-the EBMUD boathouse, Launch Ramp, TomSawyerIsland, the banks on either side of the Marina gangway and Rainbow Point. Try silver/blue Kastmasters soon after the plant, a black wooly bugger behind a clear bobber/float and sliding sinker set ups thereafter. The Marina says white power eggs, chartreuse garlic flavored Power Bait with sparkles and dark green Power Bait is working the best of all the available varieties.BR> BR> Trollers are concentrating on the River Mouth and up River to Indian Rock. The Kokanee are congregating very close to the surface in the first 10 ft. Kokanee fishing still good and they continue to favor Apex lures tipped with scented shoe peg corn, Uncle Larry's fire tiger and copper pops behind a small dodger. There were some Kokes to 14 inches taken last report but no news on size this time. Trout are also active in the same region but a bit deeper at 20 feet and they prefer Uncle Larry's lures with worms and or corn. The first large German Brown was taken last week in the Rock Wall -River Mouth area, try a mid-size broken back Rapala trout minnow behind a silver/green dodger at 50 feet near the Rock Wall, some beautiful fish come out of there every year. Bass fishing has also been good lately along submerged structure and rocky outcroppings; swim baits have been very effective.BR> BR> Recent success stories: Alex Tharp of Ukiah got this 6.81 lb Large Mouth in the Recreation Area right off Porcupine Point! Dennis Wojdac of Elk Grove got the first recorded German Brown of the 2011 season. The fish weighed in at 8.75 lbs and he was caught in the River mouth using a sockeye slammer. Congratulations to all-well done!!!
