The Lake is full to the max; there is no break between the tree/grass line and the Lake surface. Water is cascading over the spillway presently and should continue for quite a while since more rain is forecast for most of next week. Good weather today with overcast and possible rain/showers through mid-week. Recent rains have muddied the waters a bit and deposited some debris; visibility has degraded to 8 feet at best. Water temps are constant, 46 degrees at 20'and 50 degrees at surface as measured in the Marina.
Bank anglers have slowed down some since last weekend but this will pick up as new plants are added. The most productive spots continue to be opposite the EBMUD boathouse, Launch Ramp, TomSawyerIsland, the banks on either side of the Marina gangway and Rainbow Point. Folks have been doing well with silver/blue Kastmasters soon after the plant and sliding sinker set ups thereafter. The Marina is stocking the most successful lures and most popular Power Bait colors, white, spring green and chartreuse all with sparkles. Saw some folks reeling in fish this morning in the Recreation Area but action seemed to be a bit slower than last report.
Trollers continue to work the River Arm and Columbia Gulch during the week. The fish are congregating very close to the surface in the first 10 ft. Apex lures tipped with scented shoe peg corn and drug behind a small dodger has been irresistible to our little chrome friends. Trout are also active in the River Arm, Rock Wall and the Face of the Dam. Trout are also hanging very close to the surface at 5 to 15 feet. Any of three fishing methods are paying off, lead core (3-4 colors) with small flashers and a lure or hook and night crawler, flat lining or drift fishing are all effective. No reports of German Browns but they will show up soon, try a mid-size broken back Rapala trout minnow behind a silver/green dodger at 50 feet near the Rock Wall, some beautiful fish come out of there every year.
To date Pardee Lake Recreation has planted 20,800 lbs in combination with The California Dept of Fish and Game plants of 5,200 lb for a grand total of 26,000 lbs of Rainbow Trout. Another plant is scheduled for this afternoon.

Pardee Lake Fishing Report
Pardee ReservoirLots of fishermen braved the elements despite the cold and wet conditions for the opener last weekend. Drove in over the spillway and Dam this morning, the water level looks to be 3 to 4 feet below spill presently. Strong winds and driving ran have kept boats off the lake today and the forecast predicts much of the same until some sun and clearing Sunday (much like opener). Look for low temps and rain again next week. Water temps...... Read More
