New Hogan
This weeks cold and wet weather made stripper fishing difficult! However, the line sides are showing signs of improvement. I had Bob James and his partner Tom Wright of Murphy's. The duo hooked 5 strippers, but only managed to land 2 of them. Both weighed 4 1/2 pounds. We tried anchovies and herring, however all 5 fell for shad. The main lake in the deeper waters seemed to be were the large schools are holding. Water conditions are good and the lake is still rising. But Hogan's still needs another 15 feet of water to make fishing ideal!
Lake Camanche
High Pressure moved in at the latter part of the week making trout fishing very good! The fat and feisty bows were eager to bite. Tom Kelley of New Salem Oregon, Alex and Chuck St. Clair of San Mateo and Pete McConnell of San Bruno had a blast reeling in Rainbows in the 2 pound to 6.5 pound class. The four caught 24 fish and released 10. The most productive areas were in front of the dam holding at 30 to 40 feet deep and over 100 plus feet of water. Vance's slim Fins brass with a red head, blue and silver Ex-Cell's, Uncle Larry's spinners with a small grub tail laced with Pro Cure's trophy trout gel kept us busy, and made for an exciting day!

Don Pedro Reservoir Fish Report
Don Pedro ReservoirNew Melones Cool and windy weather, combined with a full moon made fishing conditions less than ideal, but it didn't seem to matter, we found nice holdover Rainbows that were eager to bite. Most were averaging 15 to 18 inches. The Trout were holding in the mouth of Coyote Creek 30 to 40 feet deep. Uncle Larry's spinners, Slim Fins and Ex-cel lures behind ball flashers or dodgers combined with Pro-Cure Trout Gel made a combination the fish couldn't resist. Thank...... Read More

Don Pedro ReservoirLake Don Pedro King Salmon bite is excellent, with lots of action! However, 99% of them are running 12 to 15 inches. The small Salmon are anywhere between 20 to 100 feet deep, mostly in the deeper depths. Ex-Cel's, Sockeye Slammers, Uncle Larry's new black and white spinner, Slim Fins or frozen shad is working great. Fleming Bay or Middle Bay are two good areas to try. In all my years of fishing Don Pedro, I...... Read More
