New Melones
Cool and windy weather, combined with a full moon made fishing conditions less than ideal, but it didn't seem to matter, we found nice holdover Rainbows that were eager to bite. Most were averaging 15 to 18 inches. The Trout were holding in the mouth of Coyote Creek 30 to 40 feet deep. Uncle Larry's spinners, Slim Fins and Ex-cel lures behind ball flashers or dodgers combined with Pro-Cure Trout Gel made a combination the fish couldn't resist.

New Melones Trout are scattered, but fairly good action! The spillway to the dam, and the mouth of Mormon Creek produced some nice holdover Rainbows. The bigger fish came off our deeper lines 30 to 45 feet. However, we did pick up some smaller fish near the surface. Best results was hugging the shoreline in less than 100 feet of water. Try using Uncle Larry's spinners with night crawlers, shad pattern Slim Fins and Excel's...... Read More
