The lake level held near 90 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the mid-50s. Recent wind and rain kept a lot of anglers home, but there has been a decent bass bite for anglers willing to make the trip to Pyramid. Large and smallmouth held in the 5-to-20-foot zone with split shot rigs, Slim Pros, Senkos, drop shots, and Texas rigs getting grabs. A lot of the action occurred up tight to bluff walls in shallow water. Points and submerged humps held plenty of biting bass as well. Striped bass were best targeted while trolling umbrella rigs over main lake points. Catfish took cut baits, garlic nightcrawlers, and chicken liver.
