In the Upper Kern, the trout action has slowed a bit. It’s been a few weeks since the last CDFW stocking. Holdovers and natives along the 20-mile stretch have come on salmon eggs, minijigs, spinners and crickets. It’s been a month since the last CDFW plant in the Lower Kern. Holdover trout have been coming on salmon eggs, trout jigs, GULP! pinched crawlers and garlic scented Powerbait. The Bass action is solid and can be found throughout the Lower Kern with Get Bent Baits, Senkos, jigs, and spinners. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 1453 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 413 CFS.

Hart Park Lake: The bass bite at Hart Part took off last week with anglers fooling fish on a variety of baits and colors
Lake Nacimiento: The lake rose slightly to 69 percent of its storage capacity and fishing has been good
