The lake level fell to 55 percent of Nacimiento’s storage capacity. Anglers reported another amazing week of bass fishing with 50+ fish days in the mix. It seemed as if everything was working last week. Spotted bass and largemouth readily took poppers, walking baits and prop baits on the surface with bone and shad imitations producing well. Anglers also used small swimbaits in white or baitfish in the 10-to-15-foot zone for excellent results. Finesses tactics produced scores of bass with baitfish, brown, and green all getting results. Crankbaits and small jigs worked for bites as well. White bass fell for many of the same baits bass anglers were throwing along with spoons and white in-line spinners. Crappie ate small live minnows and minijigs, and catfish took cut mackerel, chicken liver, and dip bait on the bait rig.
