Again, this week the Upper Kern was stocked in all three sections from Riverside Park in Kernville to Johnsondale Bridge. Fishing has been excellent up here in the 20-mile stretch with anglers reporting limit style fishing with salmon eggs, trout jigs and spinners. The Upper Kern River was stocked this week in the following sections: Section 4, Powerhouse #3 to Riverside Park in Kernville; Section 5, Fairview Dam to Lazy River Lodge; Section 6, Fairview Dam to Johnsondale Bridge. The Lower Kern will be stocked in all three sections next week. The Trout bite has been fair and have coming on minijigs, salmon eggs, pinched crawlers and Powerbait. The Lower Kern bass bite is fair to good on crankbaits, jigs, and spinners. Catfish can be found on dip baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 321 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 208 CFS
