GENERAL CONDITIONS
Trout fishing remains slow here at Lake Chabot. We have been stocking the lake at least once or twice a month from Mt. Lassen. A couple limits were pulled out from the shoreline a couple weeks ago, but overall fishing remains slow. The last plant we received from Mt. Lassen is from May 20th, We are expecting a trout plant later on this week. Hopefully, this will boast Lake Chabot fishing conditions. Water temperatures remains in the high 50’s with about a 3 feet visibility. For all anglers planning on trolling make sure to come out early morning, afternoon winds have been making it a little difficult to fish.

HALF OFF | MIDWEEK SPECIALS
All of our boats are half off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays! Our schedule for the marina, is currently open every day of the week from 6:00 AM-6:00PM. Boat rentals will stop at 5:00PM and are due back in by 6:00PM.

FISH PLANTS
500 lbs. of trout was planted into Lake Chabot on 5-20-15.

CATFISH
Catfishing continues to be very slow, but they are still out there and not many anglers are fishing for them right now. Fish and Wildlife did plant a 1,000 lbs. of catfish into Lake Chabot on April 14th. Water temperature will determine how active catfishing will be. This time of the year catfish are going to be located across from Raccoon point, behind the island, in coves by the dam and in bass cove. Anglers are using a variety of baits including mackerel, anchovies and chicken liver.

TROUT
Trout fishing remains slow right now. We did receive a trout plant on May 20th from Mt. Lassen of 500 lbs. Overall, we need more fish plants to pick Lake Chabot’s fishing back up. We did however had two whoppers get pulled out these last two weeks. Jason Hunt of Upper Lake caught a nice 10.67 lbs. trout fishing over by Bass Cove using Powerbait. Stefan Grobecker of Hayward also caught a huge whopper weighting at 10.8 lbs. fishing near the Island. Fishing here at Chabot is usually on fire this time of the year but hopefully we will get more fish plants here. Until then check out our facebook page to keep updated on current fishing conditions.

BASS
Bass fishing has started to pick up and many bass anglers are catching them each outing. If you are fishing for bass, the early mornings and in the evenings, mostly on plastics, jigs, hula grubs and top water will be your best bet. If you do want to try your luck a couple good spots to fish for bass are; near the island or the tulles by Raccoon Point. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!

Monday — Thursday - Boat rentals are from 6:00am – 5:00pm / Boats are due in by 6:00pm
Friday — Sunday - Boat rentals are from 6:00am – 6:00pm / Boats are due in by 7:00pm
