Trout Fishing
Fishing for trout is best at Sandy Point and at the Main Rec. and at the Launch since we started planting down there Fish power-bait or night crawlers off the bottom. Trolling was good between the Main Rec and the launch on the right hand side using about /2 ounce weight and letting your line out about 75ft.
Catfishing
Fishing for catfish is best by the boat launch. There is a lot of catfish that seem to be hungry. Many catfish are being caught by trout fishermen. To increase chance of catching a catfish use stinky bait like chicken livers or anchovies.
Bass Fishing
The bite is still on for the bass fishermen. Top spots are the Rock wall, Sather Canyon and near the Main Rec . Throw shad colored spinner baits or drop shot robo worms.
Surface Temp: 66F
Fish Plant: 1200 lbs of Mt Lassen Rainbows planted at the Launch on 5-6-15
Ryan Grisso of Pinole caught a Bass weighing 4.5 lbs on Sunday 5-3-15 using a plastic worm at the main rec. I am happy to report this Bass was released.
BJ Gehring of El Sobrante caught a 10Ib catfish at the Launch on Wednesday 5-6-15.
Danny Hayes of Long Beach caught a rainbow trout using moone worms at the main rec on Thursday 5-7-15.
