Incredible trout catches this week, the biggest one was 8 lbs. on a stringer brought up by Nancy Stapp & Madeln Baker. They limited out and they trolled the east side either on a Rapala or Needlefish, the guys didn't stand a chance with this duo. Another lady angler from Marysville, Maggie Capitano hooked a 7 lb. 5 oz. bow on a Flicker Shad Lure. Little Mykala outdid her brother Dylan with her huge trout weighing in at 6 lb. 4 oz. Regina caught a 3 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow and made her honey doo hold up his minnow looking trout to make hers look bigger!!! Angel Swan & Brandon trolled with worms on the east side and Angel's big catch of the day included a hefty 7 pound Rainbow.
With our trout planting season in full swing, the results are undeniably tremendous and will continue to get even better as we receive more plants and start to release some of the net pens beginning mid March.
Ricardo Gomez & Giovanni caught their first big trout of this year, a 6 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow and with the help of little Victoria they landed a few others as well on PowerBait from the beach. Laszlo Privari from Grass Valley caught the biggest trout of "his life" from shore on yellow PowerEggs, it topped our scale at 6 lb. 12 oz.
Congrats to Samantha Edwards of Carmichael, she caught her 1st fish ever, using worms from shore she hooked a nice trout all by herself!! Cari Edgerton from Browns Valley caught trout on PowerBait, and she caught her 1st BASS ever on a worm in the Open Area.
Thanks to Joe Powers and Jaceson Smith and Moe McCutcheon for emailing their GREAT trout catches from their phones in to us. Joe caught a 6 lb. 12 oz. trout and Jaceson and Moe's were almost 6 pounders. Spencer from San Jose landed a couple trout off the beach on PowerBait and on his way out he caught another one over 5 lbs.
Katy Sanner & her Dad killed it this time up they limited out from shore on Rainbows using PowerBait balls and ProCure, their stringer topper weighs 3 lb. 5 oz. Randy Lemp limits out on trout too right by his campsite and he used PowerBait. Derek Harris from Plumas Lake limits too, with orange PowerBait in the Open Area. That orange PowerBait hooked a 6 lb. 5 oz. trout from shore for Richard Sloan of Yuba City. OMG orange PowerBait again! Will Jellsey of Marysville used it to capture his 7 lb. 10 oz. trout, 2nd biggest one this week!!
Jack, Max, & Caroline from Napa caught a limit of trout from shore by the dam on PowerBait. Aiden Broome caught three trout on worms from the beach. Troller, Dennis Johnson from Napa, netted a 5 lb. 8 oz. trout using a Rapala lure. Aldo Jurado from Yuba City tossed a crankbait and hooked a 6 lb. 15 oz. Rainbow Trout! Wow, three limits of trout were caught by Jack, Justin, & Jeremy Sannar on PowerBait by the dam. Dale Mansfield caught a 5 pound trout from shore on sherbert PowerBait near the dam.
Bob Edmonson trolled a dodger and a worm on the east side and hooked onto a 7 Pound Trout. Tom & Lou from Yuba City limits on trout while trolling a Rapala, with a huge 6 pounder as their personal BEST!! I could go on and on and on but gotta put the brakes on! These were just the ones that stopped for a photo. If a picture is worth 1,000 words as they say then these photos have already exhausted me!

Collins LakeDo we want rain? Yes of course we do and it looks like a warm storm is arriving tonight and will give us a fair amount of water between Friday night and Monday. The lake is approx. 30′ down so every bit will help although the fishing has been great anyway. Our first private plant arrived last week and our second private plant will be here next week. As for this week, we are on the F...... Read More
