John English came back and caught a 3 Pound Rainbow on Sunday!! He is a patient man, he fishes by the dam using Powerbait.

A few fishermen that I talked to gave it their all and just couldn't entice the trout this week. David Callison & his buddy Keith did well on Bass fishing this past week, using purple plastic worms. They fished in the northern part of the lake in about 15 feet of water.

Our surface temperature is 62 degrees which means the lake is "turning over". When the lake turns, the temperature is the same from top to bottom and the thermocline has gone. The thermocline only appears after the lake "warms up" again which won't occur until late spring. With the absence of the thermocline, the trout are now EVERYWHERE and not deep where they hide during the summer when the surface temperature is too high for their survival.

With the lake 51' down, we are just at the end of the main boat launching ramp, but we have an alternate ramp located by the dam which is still very convenient to use. This ramp is usable by 2 wheel drive trucks and motorhomes. There is a courtesy dock at this alternate ramp. Ask for directions when you arrive at the entry station to this alternate ramp. If your motorhome is very large, we will offer free launching assistance if you would prefer.
