Salmon fishing on the Sacramento river from Anderson balls ferry downstream near chico has continued to be slow for most anglers with some hard working guides reporting 1 to 3 fish per day. Back bouncing sardine wrapped kwikfish lures in the morning and switching over to roe and a quickie puff ball in the mid morning and afternoon have been the best bets . Salmon have been averaging 18 to 26lbs with larger fish weighing in at 30 to 40lbs. Current releases to the sacramento river have dropped to 7,500 cfs With no scheduled changes. Fall salmon fishing will continue through October and will change over to the late fall run in November and early December.
