Salmon fishing this past week has really improved over the week priors fishing, with more salmon showing every day. Anglers in the right place at the right time have been reporting 2 to 5 salmon per day this past week. Back bouncing sardine wrapped kwikfish lures in the morning and switching over to roe and a quickie puff ball in the mid morning and afternoon have been the best producers . Best fishing has been from Anderson Balls ferry down stream towards chico California. Side drifting roe and a quickie puff ball has also produced nice salmon. Salmon have been averaging 18 to 26lbs with larger fish weighing in at 30 to 40lbs. Salmon counts passing through red bluff diversion dam are up to 5,277 salmon. Current releases to the sacramento river have dropped to 9000 cfs with flow decreasing to 8,500 cfs by mid week. Big fish of the week was a 42 lb salmon caught by Rick Tracy of Reno Nevada . Kevin and Patrick Burr caught their limits of salmon up to 32 lbs on Saturday September the 8th while out with Dave Jacobs professional guide service .
