This past week was a fantastic week of fishing for a variety of different species. We saw some really nice rainbow trout, some good sized spotted bass, and even a decent sized Crappie pulled in from the lake. On Saturday January 18, 2014 the Folsom Bass Team held a private tournament at Lake Camanche with 15 boats total. The entire team reeled in some beautiful looking spotted bass, the biggest fish of the day weighing in at 5.04 lbs. Pictured on the right is team member J.Rod McGinnis holding up 2 out of his 5 fish limit. J.Rod brought in some of the biggest fish on the team and told us that he caught them using jigs plus worms. The fish that he is pictured with weighed 4.20 and 4.50 lbs. You can check out the results of the Fol- som Bass Team's tournament by going to their website: www. folsombas- steam.com and you can check out more pictures of their tournament by visiting our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/lakecamanche. This past week was also another great week for trout fishing at Lake Camanche! The top spots for bank angling this past week were the South Shore Trout Pond and North Shore Day Use Point. The baits of choice for bank anglers were power eggs and Rapala Lures. Boat anglers seemed to have a lot of luck fishing the Rockwall this week. Both Robbie Dunham and Dale Hughes (Pictured on the next page) will testify that they had good days fishing near the Rockwall. The Narrows and the Dam were also good spots for trout angling and the number one method of fishing for our boat anglers this week was trolling with white or orange grubs.
