LAKE NEWS
Fitkid starts up again this weekend! Fitkid is back at South Shore! Fitkid is a program where kids learn how to make healthy choices, play fun games and win cool prizes! The program is free to all kids who are overnight campers and starts at 10am Saturday mornings at the amphitheater just across from the Gold Run campground. For questions email: mdolin@tcpcadmin.com.
FREE Saturday Night Movies!
This week's movie is "Finding Nemo"! Movies are shown at the amphitheater just across from the Gold Run campground, start at sundown, and are free to our overnight and day use guests.
FISHING REPORT
Hot summer temperatures have trout hanging out 45 to 50 feet deep out by the dam and most anglers seem to be bringing them in using garlic power baits of any color, down riggers, or trolling flashers.
Catfish are hiding out during the day but are coming out in the shallow warm waters at night. This week we talked with Fred Jackson, pictured of Oakley, CA. He and a friend rented a deluxe patio boat from us at North Shore on Saturday morning. Both men fished for a total of 4 hours and brought in 8 large-mouth bass between the two of them. They reportedly caught these fish out in the Narrows using night-crawlers.
