A sizzling hot bite for Kings and Koks, as we move into the scorching days of summer! This weeks hundred plus degree weather made it imperative we got off the water by noon. Early morning is a good time to look for Kings in the 60 to 80 feet depths, before they move down in the hindered foot range by mid morning. We used Pro Cure injected shad and small spoons as to match the new shad hatch. Look for the the 2 1/2 to 4 lbs. Chinooks roaming off rocky points early, then moving out in the river channels between Barretts Cove and the dam. The Kokanee can be found in the same areas as the Kings down 50 to 60 feet deep. Uncle Larry's orange spinner behind Vance's watermelon dodgers and Pro Cures soaked corn is a deadly combination. The 14 to 16 1/2 inch Koks are very scattered holding in small schools. Don't expect to hammer your limit in a couple of hours. Although, we were not especially targeting trout we landed some beautiful Rainbows 16 to 18 inches with the same offering as the Kings and Kokanee. Lake surface temperature is 80.4 degrees.
