The trout catches have not slowed down this week, lots of limits are still being reported to us. Doug Clark, Jimmy Trejo, along with Tyler & Tommy, photo # 2 caught 17 Rainbows on the east side of the lake trolling Mooselock Wobblers with a rainbow trout pattern. Richard and Gary Anderson, photo # 3 of Browns Valley both limited out (10 total) and they trolled with flashers and worms in the middle of the lake.
Madman & Qwelvin, photo # 4 of Browns Valley limited out on trout plus a limit of 5 Bass while trolling with Needlefish with a piece of orange Powerbait to accessorize! Ryan Barella and his wife Bari and kids Lauren & Cory, photo # 5 caught trout everyday and they all looked to be 2 pounds or better, their biggest was a 3 pounder. They used either lures or worms and didn't stay in one place too long, they kept to the main body of water and trolled about 20 ft. down.
Dale Mansfield Photo # 6 landed the biggest fish this week, a 7 lb. 8 oz. Catfish and he used live minnows from shore by the dam. A 4 lb. 12 oz. Cat was hooked by Michael Holland from Paradise on a worm at the boat dock around midnight off the boat dock. Roy Young brought Ethan and fished with Jesse Joseph and his 3 little ones (Owen, Wyatt, & Miranda), photo # 7 and they caught Bass & Crappie using live crawdads on the east side.
Kat & Natalie camped here with family and they are from Chico. They fished with live minnows and hooked 9 Crappie from a boat on the east side in the brush. Preston Foster called back to tell me that fishing by the bridge was fantastic, in fact they caught two limits of trout in about three hours. They were using the GULP bright pink salmon egg and floating them off the bottom just like you would Powerbait.

Trout limits were common at Lake Collins this week
Collins LakeWhat a great week of fishing with the cooler temperatures, the trout came up again and bank fishermen had no problem catching their limits. One boater in particular (Les Nason) gave us some very useful information on how he and his crew (Bev & Pat) would catch a limit or two everyday. They were trolling with a "threaded nightcrawler" up the line and a chunk of Powerbait on the hook. He said they were not using flashers, instead they used...... Read More

As of last week our Trout Stocking Program officially ended with the warmer lake temperature. At the beginning of the week there were still many reports of shore fisherman limiting out on trout using worms or Powerbait. Most of the trout are caught early in the morning when the lake temperature is cooler. Boat fishermen are trolling between 15' down and 25' down with Rapalas or flashers & nightcrawlers. Boat fishermen also had lots of limits of trout. Many trout...... Read More
