Hi everyone,

This last week has been again a very exciting week of fishing. With Lake Oroville just a foot from the top , it is fishing really good. My clients averaged near 75 bass per person this last week all week!! There have been some changes in the bite but it is still hot!! It seemed to be a better bite in the afternoon when we were getting around 20 per hour.

Most of the bass are now post spawn and are healing up fast after the rigors of spawning. Most of the bass are now moving out from the coves but there are still a few hanging back. A mixed bag of large mouth and spots deep in the coves but again most have moved out.

Everything from top-water action to reaction baits to worms, senkos, tubes, blades and swim baits have been getting all of the bites you can handle. Action have been all over the lake from the West Branch to the North Fork to the Main body and the Middle and South Forks. For more information or to book a trip call me @ 530-872-0907.

Best regards,

Ron Gandolfi

I had two clients out on Sat. the 19th and they caught an estimated 175-200 bass. It was non stop action as we started in the West Branch went into the slot and then into the North Fork. Throwing tubes, senkos and blades is all it took to rack up incredible numbers. The largest went just over 2 lbs and most were post spawn. The water temp was upper 60's to low 70's and the lake...... Wow!! mid May and it is what we have been waiting for. The bite is red hot!! Although there is mostly post spawn bass now, it is great to get a lot of bass each trip out. 75-100 fish days are here and if you want lots of action this is the time. Top water action is starting, reaction baits are working, blades, any type of worm, senko, tube, drop shot will produce. Water temps are now...... Read More
