Lake Nacimiento - Bradley, CA (San Luis Obispo County)

White bass are being caught by trolling white Roostertails or small (1/4 ounce) Kastmaster spoons in any of the five major arms of the lake, lots of fish are coming out of Swamp John though so that would be a good area to target, it's also just a short hop to the river from there.

Spotted bass are spawing and are primarily being caught in shallow water-the southwest facing banks are holding the most fish and with the wind we've had this week, the back-end of coves is not only where lots of fish are, it's a good way to avoid the wind. Drop-shot rigs, small Texas rigged worms and wacky-rigged Senkos are all working great, slower is better than fast.

Lake San Antonio is kicking out some great large and smallmouth bass. Both species are shallow and either pre-spawn, spawning or guarding nests. Smallmouths are hitting drop-shot rigs thrown into their nests but good fish are also being caught on spinnerbaits and rip-baits. The largemouths are hitting the same baits but larger jigs and creature baits will often work better on them. Crappie are hitting small jigs near wood and brush while the stripers action is quiet....... Read More
