Holiday weekend anglers can still find some shad biting on the Sacramento River, reported Garrett Sinclair at the Tackle Box in Chico. "There are a lot of shad being caught at the washout below Scotty's", noted Sinclair. "Best jigs have been red head/chartreuse tail. Many of the fish are the larger females up to four pounds."
Sinclair added, "There are also some stripers being caught down at Butte City on jerkbaits, but not a lot of keepers."
