Striper action is heating up! As we move into summer, the linesides are feeding more frequently. My clients are enjoying an average daily catch of 9 in the 3 to 5 lb. class. Lots of fun on Ultra Lite Kokanee rods. Early morning the strip bass are near the surface off shallow points. Then moving into deeper water holding in depths of 20 to 30 feet as the day heats up.

Rolling shad or anchovies laced in Pro Cure gel has been very effective. Good area to try Wrinkle Cove, the dam, Deer Island and the south arm. Lake surface temps are reaching 80 degrees by noon. Water conditions are very good with little or no debris.

The main picture shows Duane Huff of Oakdale and Richard Johnson of Modesto on their first Hogan experience, was pleasantly surprised with this catch.

Picture 2 shows San Joaquin County Sheriff Steve Slaton of Linden who took some much needed time off, and had a great day on the water.

Picture 3 shows Russell Broussard and son Bryan of Fremont who did a Saturday trip catching these nice fish among the water skiers and jet skiers.
