Pardee Lake Annual Kids Fishing Derby this Saturday, June 18th it begins at 9 a.m. in the Main Parking Lot.
The Lake is full to the brim with water levels right at the tree line and still cascading over the spillway. Good visibility to 17 ? feet, water temperatures have remained constant this report, 56 degrees at 20 feet and 58 at surface in the Marina.
Kokanee continue to congregate in the River Mouth and along the southern end of the Lake between the spillway buoy line and the eastern shoreline. Trout are still available in the River Arm, at the face of the Dam and near Mel's Cove. Apex lures tipped with scented shoe peg corn, Uncle Larry's fire tiger, pinky and copper pops with corn, pink /white hoochies all behind a small Sep's dodger have all been working well for the Trollers. The Marina reports Trollers are now fishing in 20 to 50 foot depths.
The word is most bank anglers continue to do well all around the Recreation Area. Planters continue to hold in the area long after the plant. Hot spots are the same-the EBMUD boathouse, Launch Ramp, TomSawyerIsland and Rainbow Point. Kastmasters continue to be super hot, silver/blue and silver/chartreuse ? oz size. The sliding sinker set up is best with white power eggs, chartreuse garlic flavored Power Bait with sparkles and dark green Power Bait.
Make sure you stop by the Marina and get the latest scoop on what's working and where.
Pardee Lake Recreation has planted 56,800 lbs in combination with The California Dept of Fish and Game plants of 6,200 lb for a grand total of 63,000 lbs of Rainbow Trout.
