The lake continues to cascade over the spillway. Current water temperatures have inched up a bit at the Marina, 59 degrees at 20 feet and 67 at surface look for these temps stay fairly constant in the near future. Water clarity is good to 20 feet plus. The recent plant has made the following spots good this morning, behind the ebay boathouse Porcupine point, the Launch ramp and Tom Sawyer Island. The planters usually end up in the cove behind the Marina, Blue Herron Point, and the parking lot bank behind Tom Sawyer Island. Night crawlers, pink power worms and green power bait are the hot baits, with wooly boogers and Kastmasters good right after the plant. Silver/blue Kastmasters have been very hot lately.
Trolling for Trout has slowed a bit in the body of the Lake; most Trout taken lately have been upriver above the Rock Wall. Lake water temps remain cool; Trout have become a little more illusive. Most Trollers continue fishing the River starting at the Mouth and going up as far as Indian Rock. Try the River arm and near Twin Coves for Kokes. Lots of fish in the 10 to 12 inch size, they are plentiful and quick to bite; they have dropped down a little and are now at 40 to 50 feet. Small spoon or needlefish type lures in pink or florescent orange/red tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers, dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green work well. Kokanee still prefer scented white corn. No Browns reported this report but there may be a few left around the Dam face and the rock Wall. California Department of Fish and Game has planted 3000 lbs of fish in addition Pardee Lake Inc has planted 37,000 lbs of trout as of today with more plants scheduled.
