The last of the wind, cold, and rain are trailing out of our area as our weather warms into the coming weekend. The lake is returning to a much more fishable condition.?? Here's what we've heard?Ķ
The bass bite is turning back around. The reports we're hearing are of the feast or famine nature ??? either an angler did very well or didn't catch a thing. Among the anglers catching fish, key presentations were soft plastics, nightcrawlers and minnows fished in 8 to 12 feet of water. Now, with the weather warming into the 80's this coming weekend, we're expecting to see most of the bass heading for the shallow water again. Spinner baits, swim baits, and creature baits should all be effective if the bite really gets cooking.
Few crappie reports have come in. However, we've had a couple of reports out of Redbud Park that have anglers catching 5 to 15 crappie a day off the docks there. Try minnows or mini jigs and fish them at a variety of depths until you find ???em.?? We've also heard that there's a solid bite in Glenhaven during the evening and night time hours.
Catfish reports are trickling in now with anglers catching some nice fish on nightcrawlers, mackerel, and minnows. With the poor conditions this past week all reports are from shore anglers along the southern end and Cache Creek. Keep the reports coming in and we'll get dialed in on the bite before the Catfish Derby comes next month!

Clear Lake Fish Report 04-21-2007
Clear CreekCold and wind have continued to plague anglers this week. This is the kind of weather that makes you just want to stay indoors. ??The result, this week, is a much abbreviated report?Ķ The isolated reports from bass fisherman have them moving back to finesse presentations. The bass have moved back to staging areas in deeper water that's 10 to 15 feet deep. Soft plastics have taken the top spot this past week as anglers lighten up and slow down to...... Read More
