The docks at Lake Davis are pulled from the boat ramps and water temperatures are dropping to around mid 50's. Lake level is still at very good levels and anglers are able to launch aluminum boats with no problems. Anglers in a boat are trolling 10 to 15 feet down. Flashers with crawler and needlefish are the recommended baits. The back bay by Lightning Tree and Bluff Cove are good spots to troll at. Shore fisherman fishing at Lake Davis should try Mallard cove and Fairview point for the most bites. Inflated crawlers and orange power bait is best. Fly fisherman fishing at Lake Davis should try Jenkins Cove area with nymphs, wooly buggers and leeches. Rust and moss green are good colors. Fly anglers can also try nymphs like copper johns, snail patterns, and hares ear best.
