The lake fell to 45 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing was good last week. One to two pound largemouth have been reliable for anglers throwing drop shot, shaky heads, and spider jigs. Margarita Mutilator, Aaron’s Magic, and Ox Blood all took fish. Magnum sized plastic worms and deep diving crankbaits fooled bigger bass near submerged structure spots. The crappie bite was decent for anglers willing to find schools holding over submerged rock piles. Catfish took cut mackerel, frozen shad, and chicken liver.
