The 2024 Sacramento River salmon fishing season is closed once again and after all things being considered, it is likely a good decision for fisheries managers overall. Yes, thats old news now but we have some good news regarding California salmon fishing alternatives.  This is the second year of salmon fishing closures here in California and it wasn't hard to see all of this unfolding.  California salmon fishing guides have been hit hard by the closures but some have made adjustement to their business plans and moved to California lakes for the landlocked Kings and Kokanee, and to some of the southern Oregon rivers for their salmon fishing venues again this year.

One of our partner guides, Captain Justin Thompson, has taken the time to become familiar with the Rogue River Estuary King salmon fishery in Gold Beach, Or and has obtained his Oregon guide license with the intent of providing his clients with the opportunity to fish the Rogue River during salmon season this year.  Justin is one of the best in the west salmon guides I know and has been in the fishing guide business a long time.  Justin has booked a majority of his July thru September dates but still has several available dates.  This trip has a 4 angler minimum but we have been booking 2 parties and merging the groups to meet daily minimums.

Rogue River summer Kings are big, bright, and have very good table fare! These salmon are fresh from the ocean and fight like crazy!  If you're looking for a salmon fishing experience this year, this is the one I recommend.  The best way to book your Rogue River Estuary king salmon trip with Justin is to call Jaynie Goodwin at (530) 510-2925 for more information and available dates. Thank you!
