After recent storms the lake rose above 60 percent of its capacity. Bass anglers reported fair to decent fishing with finesse baits and spoons doing most of the damage. Spotted bass held in 10 to 50 feet of water, and they fell for small jigs, drop shot, and Neko rigs. The spoon bite took fish as deep as 50 feet with blade baits and War Eagles leading the way. White bass fell for deep diving crankbaits, small swimbaits, and spoons while suspending over 30 to 50 feet of water. Catfish anglers used cut mackerel, dip bait, and chicken liver for decent results. A whisker fish over ten pounds was reported by one lucky angler. Crappie were tight lipped, but they can be located holding over deep-water structure.
