Easter vacation brought us the BEST weather we have ever seen. Even the one day that threatened rain didn't happen as planned. Fish were being caught with ease and Sunrise Service on our sand beach was spectacular. We had 2 private plants and one F & G plant by Friday of this past week. Due to the surface temperature rising, we also had to release ALL THE TROUT IN THE NET PENS. Realistically all in all we released the equivalent of 12 fish plants

Hundreds of trout were caught after the release-60 photos were taken on Saturday & Sunday alone. Dean Clark who camps here every spring caught his biggest fish yet on 4/5 (a 6-1/2 & a 5-1/2 lb. trout) trolling a straight worm 4 colors down in middle of the lake.

Alan Lloyd of Somerset entered our Derby for 4/5 and caught a 7 Pound Rainbow trout which won the biggest fish and took 1/2 the pot. The Derby for future weeks is temporarily "on hold" and we will announce when it will begin again. Arlie & Alan Lloyd together picked up 2 more limits of trout on Powerbait in front of their campsite. It was a very memorable campout for their family.

Jim Herrington started off the week with a 7 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow catch using a Rapala and trolling. The trout can't resist lures thrown at them with lots of color, like the Fire Tiger pattern, or Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, etc. Remington Jeffrey caught his 1st Fish at Collins Lake and his monster trout weighed in at 7 lb. 8 oz. which took his crawdad lure on the east side. Bill Debo netted an 9 lb. 4 oz. Giant Rainbow caught by the dam and trolling worms. Lisa Alvis outdid all the men in her camp, with a 6 lb. 8 oz. gorgeous Bow she captured on a Fire Tiger lure.

The Borello, & Sims, & Price group has been kicking it this week on the fishing. Val Borello with a 6 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow caught while trolling a Humdinger (Red). Alice & Ernie Borello netted a 5 pound trout under the power lines. Their Rainbow took a worm they were trolling. Bill Price, Jay Sims and daughter Lorrie landed a 7 lb. 4 oz. trout along with their limits, with the help of a white Needlefish trolling in 5 feet of water.

The "Hats off Award" goes to Daniel & Mike of Modesto who trolled Roostertails while canoeing! Team Mojo was very persistent in trolling worms all over the lake and took home 2 limits of trout. The Bullock Family fished in front of their campsite and took out 2 limits of trout on Powerbait or tossing Kastmasters.
