Crappie fishing has been the best bet at BV with anglers doing well while using small live minnows, minijigs, and small swimbaits. Once anglers find a biting school of crappie it’s has been easy to score limits. The crappie fishing has been best from a boat or a kayak. Bass anglers scored bites in the tules and cattails using topwater frogs, stick baits, and weedless offerings. Anglers reported pulling bass from the holes and pockets along the weed lines. Spinnerbaits also produced both bass and crappie in those same areas. Catfish ate fresh shrimp, dip bait, and cut sardines on the long soak.
