Lake Success remained at 12 percent of capacity, and fishing was fair last week. Many anglers avoided the heat by fishing early and later in the day, and they were rewarded with some chunky bass. The topwater and finesse bait tactics remained the most productive way to get bite, but anglers who found bass busting on shad schools did very well with crankbaits and jerkbaits. Catfish anglers scored bites using cut baits, chicken liver, and nightcrawlers. There were no reports of crappie last week.
